Part of the College of Design’s Kusske Design Initiative, the KDI Exchange invites faculty, staff, students, and guests to consider varied design motivations, disciplines, methods, and solutions. These open, informal dialogues are conducted via Zoom. The online modality enables pluralistic conversation and reference-sharing, for enriching design thinking and practice while building community.
Premised on interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration to address timely themes such as biophilic design and circular economy, KDI is developing an experimental site to host a collection of ecologically conscientious materials and an associated maker space. Students, faculty, and staff can now explore the college’s emerging “biomaterials” collection in the library in Rapson Hall.
For this session of the KDI Exchange, participants are encouraged to engage in an asynchronous brainstorming activity via Miro board. Share your ideas at z.umn.edu/kdi-miro and help further develop this exciting new resource.
The KDI Exchange occurs biweekly on Fridays, 11 a.m. to noon.
